marketing VP for FORTRUST
DENVER - The love affair between Denver data center provider FORTRUST and IO Data Centers just got a bit cozier.
FORTRUST has announced that David Shepard, Senior Vice President at IO, will assume the additional role of FORTRUST Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Shepard crafted the initial partnership of the two companies in the spring of 2012, when IO launched its “Powered by IO” (PBIO) program. He will now help market the program for both companies.
IO is considered a pioneer in software-defined data centers (SDDC), in which control of the data center is fully automated by software. Hardware configuration is maintained through intelligent software systems, as opposed to traditional data centers where the infrastructure is typically defined by hardware and devices.
PBIO sites and service providers are certified by IO to host IO’s technology to provide Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) in exclusive markets. Partners share resources, training, technology, leads, sales and marketing.
As the first participant in the program, FORTRUST has committed to use IO modular data center technology exclusively as it expands its Denver data center, where it offers colocation and disaster recovery services.
FORTRUST now has IO data modules in all three of its locations, which include its own data center in Denver and IO-operated facilities in Phoenix and Edison, New Jersey.
According to FORTRUST, the addition of Shepard is in response to the increased demand for IO.Anywhere data modules in FORTRUST locations. IO.Anywhere is a family of modular data center components that can create and deploy a fully-configured enterprise data center. FORTRUST was named the first and exclusive provider of IO.Anywhere modules in Colorado.
"David Shepard has years of experience conveying IO's value proposition to prospective customers,” says Steve Knudson, Vice Chairman and CEO of FORTRUST. “Having that expertise at our fingertips will enable both IO and FORTRUST to maximize the value of this partnership."
Rob McClary, Senior Vice President and General Manager of FORTRUST, is also happy with Shepard’s appointment.
"David and I worked together closely to enable FORTRUST's adoption of IO's modular technology and the development of the FORTRUST and IO partnership,” he says. “With his support, FORTRUST will continue to serve customers agile, efficient and on-demand data center capacity and services.”
